Don't be fooled by the doubters who weren't in attendance at Comic-Con earlier this month; no other superhero film got the crowd hyped like Deadpool did. And perhaps that has to do with it being a film largely driven by fan enthusiasm. When Ryan Reynolds says it was their ecstatic reaction to the leaked test footage from last year that convinced 20th Century Fox to make the film a reality, he's not kidding, and when those fans saw their favorite butt-kicking merc-with-a-mouth in the R-rated film they've been demanding, they showed their appreciation in thunderous applause that dwarfed Batman v Superman, X-Men: Apocalypse...everything.
Empire has debuted a handful of new photos from Deadpool, showing Ryan Reynolds as the mercenary whose insults are as lethal as his twin katana blades. The images also shows him alongside Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead (he has a great line about her in the trailer), and Morena Baccarin as his girlfriend Vanessa aka Copycat.
Directed by Tim Miller and co-starring Ed Skrein, TJ Miller, Gina Carano, Leslie Uggams, and Andre Tricoteux as Colossus, Deadpool opens February 12th 2016.
