There hasn't been a Madea film in two years, and in that time Tyler Perry was pretty great in David Fincher's Gone Girl. Is it time to start looking at Perry differently, and perhaps taking him seriously as an actor? He'll get another chance to impress alongside a talented now that he's joined Chloe Moretz in the psychological drama, Brain on Fire.
Based on Susannah Cahalan's memoir about the mysterious month-long illness that had her descending into violent madness until one doctor finally came up with an accurate diagnosis. Moretz stars as Cahalan, while Perry will play a newspaper editor. The rest of the cast consists of Thomas Mann, Jenny Slate, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Richard Armitage.
Directed by Gerard Barrett, Brain on Fire opens next year. [E! Online]
