Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg could reteam for 'Patriots' Day'

Peter Berg and Mark Wahlberg have the kind of working relationship the actor used to share with David O. Russell before that whole thing went south. They collaborated on a pretty good war film in Lone Survivor, and next they've got the real-life drama Deepwater Horizon, followed by action flick Mile 22 with Ronda Rousey and Iko Uwais. And it's not stopping there as the two are looking to team up once more in the Boston drama, Patriots' Day.

Unfortunately, it's not an account of the New England Patriots' Inflate-Gate scandal, but is instead one of numerous movies centered on the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. This one is penned by Matt Charman (Bridge of Spies) and is based on the account of Boston Police commissioner Ed Davis. The life rights to his story were acquired by CBS Films to be brought to the big screen as part of a collaboration with 60 Minutes. Berg would be directing with Wahlberg eyeing the role of Davis.

There's still two more Boston Marathon films to contend with, as Daniel Espinosa is developing Boston Strong, and Jake Gyllenhaal recently agreed to star in Stronger, which will be directed by David Gordon Green. [Variety]
