Me and Earl and the Dying Girl star Olivia Cooke has been weighing roles in two seriously huge projects: Steven Spielberg's Ready Player One and Star Wars: Episode VIII. She's an actress who is high in demand right now, but chances are she wouldn't be able to do both roles. Either way she's going to be at the top of a pop culture phenomenon, and now a decision has been made.
Cooke has won the role of Canadian blogger Samantha aka Art3mis in Ready Player One, meaning she's beaten out Elle Fanning and Lola Kirke for the role. Based on the popular book by Ernest Cline, the film takes place in a virtual world known as Oasis where a teenager named Wade competes against others in a treasure hunt for the founder's grand prize. At last report it was Nick Robinson (Jurassic World) up for the role of Wade, whose avatar goes by the name Parzival.
As for that Star Wars role, with Cooke likely out that leaves Tatiana Maslany and Gina Rodriguez as the known contenders, but it's possible more could be in the mix.
