Ron Perlman is a Beast Again in 'Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them'
One of the great things about Ron Perlman is that he has a presence that shines through whether he's playing a regular human or make-up heavy characters like Hellboy or Vincent aka The Beast. Fans seem to love him no matter what, and that makes him a great fit for Harry Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, in which he'll play one of those titular beasts.
According to THR, Perlman will play a goblin in the film which stars Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who catalogs supernatural creatures 70 years before the birth of Harry Potter. J.K. Rowling is adapting her novel, which is basically a textbook used by Harry, Hermione, Ron and others at Hogwarts, while David Yates is returning to the franchise as director. The rest of the cast includes Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Colin Farrell, Jon Voight, Samantha Morton, Carmen Ejogo, Alison Sudol and Gemma Chan. What's unclear is if Perlman's goblin character will be different from the bite-sized versions seen in earlier Potter films.
Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens November 18th 2016.
