Stylish Trailer for 'The Lady In the Car with Glasses and a Gun' with 'Nymphomaniac' Star Stacy Martin
Turning his keen visual panache as a comics artist towards the world of feature films, French director Joann Sfar has quickly made a mark with his 2010 biopic, Gainsbourg, followed by the award-winning animated film The Rabbi's Cat, and contributions to Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet. Now he's going down the genre route with the stylish psychological thriller with the cool title, The Lady In The Car With Glasses And A Gun.
While it features rising star Stacy Martin (last seen in Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac), the film is actually led by Freya Mavor, as seen in this new U.S. trailer backed by the moody sounds of Wendy Rene's "After Laughter (Comes Tears)”. Based on Sébastien Japrisot's book and co-starring Elio Germano and Benjamin Biolay, the story follows a beautiful, enigmatic woman who steals her boss' sports car for a joy ride, only to wind up in a town where everyone seems to know her. When a body is discovered in the car's trunk, the craziness gets ratcheted up another level.
The Lady In the Car with Glasses and a Gun opens on December 18th.
