*UPDATE* More photos give us another look at Punisher!
Finding the balance between heroism and vigilantism seems to be a major theme coursing through the MCU right now. Captain America and Iron Man will be on opposing sides of the issue in Captain America: Civil War, dragging their fellow Avengers into the ideological battle. And in Daredevil's second season we'll see the man without fear take on the one hero who routinely crosses the line: the Punisher.
New images from the Daredevil season two show Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and it looks like he got the drop on the man without fear. But he's not the only x-factor entering Matt Murdock's life as Elodie Yung is set to play the Greek assassin, Elektra, and we're also getting the first look at her in the role. Elektra poses an interesting contrast to Punisher as well since she'll be looking for a sense of redemption while he most definitely won't be. Here's what co-showrunner Doug Petrie told EW...
“Viewers watching the show will be rooting for this guy with a gun but we’re also going to force people — the way we force Matt — to second-guess themselves. Taking lethal justice into your own hands in America in 2015 is tricky s–t. We have not shied away from the rich complicated reality of Now. If you’ve got a gun and you’re not the police you’re going to incite strong feelings. We’re stirring the pot and we’re aware of the headlines where we live and we’re trying to get people to think.”
The third images show Murdock (Charlie Cox) looking happier than he's ever looked, and who wouldn't be with Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) draped all over him like that?
