'Terminator Genisys' Sequels Yanked Off The Schedule

So...that Terminator Genisys experiment didn't exactly go as planned, did it? Paramount gave the franchise reboot a shot, brought back Arnold Schwarzenegger in his iconic role, brought in Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke, Jai Courtney, and Matt Smith, and even at one time considered a TV series to go along with it. The result? Audiences hated it, critics killed it, and while the $440M worldwide isn't bad, it's not great, either. What happens next? Apparently, nothing.

While there was some hope for a sequel not too long ago, the fact that Paramount has pulled it from the schedule puts a bullet in that idea. Instead, they've put Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron's Baywatch comedy into that spot on May 19th 2017. There's always a chance they could reconsider and find a new date, but would the investment be worth it?

The Terminator franchise reverts back to James Cameron in 2019, anyway, and Paramount may decide to just let it be. Hasta la Vista, baby!
