Channing Tatum And Joseph Gordon-Levitt Team For An R-Rated Musical Comedy
Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are two immensely talented actors, who have shown their ability to do pretty much whatever they want. In theaters right now is the Coen Brothers' Hail, Caesar!, and likely you've heard about the scene-stealing song and dance number Tatum performed in it. But let's not forget Gordon-Levitt has shown us his moves in (500) Days of Summer and as part of HitRecord's variety show. So perhaps it was inevitable the two would team up on a project that shows off their musical skills.
The duo are set to headline an R-rated musical comedy penned by Michael Bacall, writer of 21 Jump Street. Already promising. Details are thin right now but it's apparently centered on two pilots and is based on an idea hatched by JGL.
Tatum and JGL have appeared in multiple films together, such as Havoc, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and JGL's directorial debut, Don Jon. This seems like the kind of project JGL might want to direct himself, but you can bet Universal, who won a fierce bidding war for the film, will do whatever it takes to make its stars happy. [THR]
