Trailer For Woody Allen's 'Café Society' With Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg, Steve Carell, And More
Summer time is upon us, and that means it's finger-crossing time. Time to cross our fingers and hope that the annual effort from Woody Allen, in this case the roaring 1930s comedy Cafe Society, will be up to his past high standards. After the disappointing Irrational Man and Magic In the Moonlight, Allen appears to be going back to the fast-paced, swingin' style that made Midnight in Paris so enjoyable.
Ahead of its debut at Cannes next month, the first trailer for Cafe Society has arrived, featuring an all-star cast led by Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Steve Carell, Blake Lively, Parker Posey, Corey Stoll, Anna Camp, and many more. Set in 1930s Hollywood, the story centers on a neurotic Jewish man (shocker!!!) who hits the west coast in order to work in the movie biz. There he falls in love with a beautiful girl and gets swept up in the glitz and glamour of the cafe society of the times.
This Golden Age of Hollywood has been explored already this year in the Coen Brothers' Hail, Caesar! That film ended up not doing so well, but box office expectations are lower for Allen at this point, with most just hoping it's an entertaining trip down memory lane.
Cafe Society opens on August 12th.
