First Look At The New Mighty Morphin 'Power Rangers', Suited Up And Ready To Go

Let's face it, if you loved it in the '80s or '90s, some studio somewhere is making a movie about it. There seems to be no end to the modernized reboots Hollywood has indulged itself in of late, and as long as they keep reeling in big bucks, why should they ever stop? They won't all flop like Jem and the Holograms did, right? And most likely that fate won't befall Lionsgate's updated Power Rangers, who are looking crazy sleek in their very first appearance.

EW has the debut image of the mighty morphin' heroes, and they've replaced the cheesy spandex with slick metallic gear that director Dean Israelite calls an"alien costume that grows on them." Underneath those masks are Becky G, Ludi Lin, Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott and R.J Cyler as the rainbow-colored Rangers who will battle the monstrous forces of the evil Rita Repulsa, played by Elizabeth Banks.  The casting of Banks was controversial in itself, but some fans were also upset by the new look she sported, which begs the question whether they'll be turned off by this, too.

Power Rangers opens March 24th 2017.
