John Crowley To Direct Adaptation Of Pultizer Prize-Winner, 'The Goldfinch'
John Crowley was already a well-regarded director before the Oscar-nominated Brooklyn, but now he's on an entirely different level. That success has everyone keeping note of what he'll do next, and it turns out the next project he'll undertake is another adaptation of an acclaimed prize-winning novel, Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch.
Deadline reports Crowley will direct The Goldfinch, based on Tartt's Pulitzer Prize-winning book which will be adapted by Frank and Tinker Sailor Soldier Spy writer, Peter Straughan. The story centers on 13-year-old Theo Decker, who is taken in by a wealthy family after surviving an accident that killed his mother.
This seems to be early on as there's no word on a start date or casting, but we've already seen what Crowley can do when given grade 'A' material and a top notch cast.
