Liam Neeson Is General MacArthur In Trailer For South Korea's 'Operation Chromite'

What's this? Liam Neeson in a role that doesn't require him to beat up a bunch of random goons? Films like that don't come around often enough lately (although he has Martin Scorsese's Silence coming up), so seeing Neeson as General Douglas MacArthur in the South Korean war film, Operation Chromite, takes some getting used to. And yet here he is in the new trailer, ready to take the battlefield.

Directed by John H. Lee (of The Killer remake), and co-starring Lee Jung-jae, Lee Bum-soo, and Jin Se-yun, the film chronicles the Battle of Inchon, a major turning point in the Korean War.The story focuses on eight Korean War heroes involved in the fight to reclaim Seoul from the North Koreans with the help of the United Nations, led by MacArthur.

Operation Chromite opens in South Korea later this year but has yet to gain U.S. distribution. Even with Neeson on board I have doubts this will ever get much of a domestic release.
