Melissa McCarthy's College Comedy 'Life Of The Party' Gets 2018 Date
It's still two years away, but New Line is feeling so confident in Melissa McCarthy's comedy, Life of the Party, that they've already given it a release date. The college-set film, which McCarthy will star in alongside Gillian Jacobs, will hit theaters on May 11th 2018.
McCarthy also co-wrote the screenplay with her husband, Ben Falcone, who will direct. He previously directed his wife in Tammy and The Boss. The film has been described as in the vein of Rodney Dangerfield's Back to School, with Jacobs playing a sorority sister. Not much else is known about it.
There's going to be some stiff competition that month with Avengers: Infinity War, How to Train Your Dragon 3, and the young Han Solo spinoff. McCarthy can be seen now in Ghostbusters, while Jacobs has the improv comedy Don't Think Twice arriving later this month.
