'The Nice Guys' Breakout Angourie Rice Joins 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

While audiences didn't show up for Shane Black's The Nice Guys, a fact which still irks me, there were a lot of good things that came out of that buddy comedy. One of those things was the breakout performance by young Angourie Rice, who played the wise-beyond-her-years daughter of Ryan Gosling's character. Now Rice is moving on to a much bigger film as she's joined the cast of Marvel's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

THR was the first to break the news, but details on Rice's character are a mystery. That's not surprising since we know virtually nothing about the supporting cast that will be surrounding star Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, and Michael Keaton presumably as the Vulture. Rice joins Zendaya Coleman, Logan Marshall-Green, Martin Starr, Tony Revolori, Michael Barbieri, Abraham Attah, Hannibal Buress, and Donald Glover in what is shaping up to be a huge roster of stars, perhaps too many?

Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming opens July 7th 2017.
