'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them' Sequel Confirmed, David Yates Returning To Direct

Considering Harry Potter author JK Rowling planned Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to be a trilogy, the announcement of a sequel is hardly a surprise. Warner Bros. has confirmed a follow-up to this fall's return to the Wizarding World, and they've already locked down a date and director.

David Yates will be back behind the camera, having already directed four of the 'Potter' movies as well, with a release date set for November 16th 2018. Eddie Redmayne will be reprising his role as magizoologist Newt Scamander, who has adventures in the land of Muggles decades before the birth of the boy wizard.

The only thing interesting about this is the studio's supreme confidence 'Fantastic Beasts' will be a smash, even though blockbusters and sequels have been getting torn to shreds this summer. Then again the 'Potter' franchise has been amazingly resilient. It's like somebody cast a spell on it or something.
