There have been so many ups and downs with a remake of The Crow that it could fill ten graphic novels. The latest headaches came last year when studio Relativity went bankrupt, this after Corin Hardy was brought in to direct stars Jack Huston and Andrea Riseborough. So that version fell through, but the studio is back on its feet and after working hard to maintain the rights to the adaptation, they're relaunching with Jason Momoa in the title role.
That's right, Jason Momoa aka Aquaman aka Conan aka Khal Drogo will star in The Crow, with Hardy still on board to direct. Damn, that's some patience for ya. And this deal appears to be done, sealed in the only way good deals get made, over a beer...
Momoa's a bit...well, bulky, compared to most traditional versions of The Crow, but perhaps that's a good thing. At this point it may be a good idea to get as far away from the familiar as possible, because sticking to James O'Barr's source material hasn't gotten anything done so far. Still, it's probably a good idea to take a "believe it when I see it" approach. [Mashable]
