Sarah Hyland Feels The Beat In Trailer For Netflix's EDM Drama, 'XOXO'
Didn't we just get a movie about a young DJ looking to hit it big in the neon-lit, energy-infused, beat-thumping world of EDM? Yeah, we did; it was We Are Your Friends and not even Zac Efron on the wheels of steels could make anybody care. But maybe Netflix feels they can do better with XOXO, an original film set during the biggest EDM festival in America.
Starring Sarah Hyland (Modern Family), Ione Skye (Say Anything), Graham Phillips (The Good Wife), Brett DelBuono, Haley Kiyoko (Jem & the Holograms), Colin Woodell, Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars), and Ian Anthony Dale, the film centers on a group of 20-something's partying down at the XOXO festival in Portland, OR. There's also the story of a young DJ whose track go viral, earning him a spot to spin his beats at the event. Of course.
This trailer has everything that I assume fans of the genre want? Shit's goin' viral everywhere, hot chicks in ridiculous rave-approved outfits, wild proclamations about the power of EDM on one's life, digitally-altered cartoon voices, epilepsy-inducing colors, Ryan Hansen acting tough...yeah, this shit is probably going to suck big time but at least it will be entertaining!
Directed by Christopher Louie, XOXO hits Netflix on August 26th. Check out the trailer below followed by the film's first track, "Make Me Feel", by Grammy-nominated duo Galantis and East & Young.
