Jake Gyllenhaal And Carey Mulligan To Star In Paul Dano's 'Wildlife'

Paul Dano isn't wasting any time in preparing his directorial debut, Wildlife. It was at the end of July that we first learned about the project, which sees him co-writing the script alongside his partner, Zoe Kazan, and now today comes word on the two big names he's found to lead it.

Variety reports Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan will star in the film, an adaptation of Richard Ford's novel set in 1960 Montana and following 16-year-old Joe Bronson as he watches his parents' marriage fall apart after she hooks up with another guy.

There are a lot of close ties here that may explain how things came together. Gyllenhaal and Dano shared some tense scenes together in Prisoners, while Mulligan had a small role in Brothers, which starred Gyllenhaal. Filming begins in November and already this is looking like one of next year's must-see movies.
