Daniel Craig Sounds Like He's Sticking Around As James Bond

For the last few weeks it's been clear that all of the predictions on who will be the next James Bond have been wildly premature. We heard a few months ago that it would be totally up to the producers who takes on the 007 role, not the fans. And those same producers made it clear that Daniel Craig was their guy. Did any of this stop the speculation? Of course not, the only one who would be able to do that is Craig himself. Well, here you go, because he doesn't sound like he's going anywhere.

Speaking at an event for the New Yorker on Friday, Craig puts into his perspective those "I'd rather slash my wrists" than play Bond again comments from last year.

"They say that shit sticks, and that definitely stuck," he said with a laugh. "It was the day after filming [stopped on Spectre]. I'd been away from home for a year."

To be fair, the Spectre shoot took a clear physical and emotional toll on Craig. It's like talking to an athlete minutes after a heartbreaking last-second loss. They're libel to say anything out of sheer exhaustion and frustration. But now there's been some distance and Craig has had a change of heart that will possibly keep him as Bond for as long as he wants it.

“As far as I’m concerned, I’ve got the best job in the world. I’ll keep doing it as long as I still get a kick out of it. If I were to stop doing it, I would miss it terribly.”

Sorry, all of you betting on Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba. Maybe some day but it ain't gonna be now. I expect that we may start hearing some solid info about the next Bond film soon now that Craig is back on a positive track. [Vulture]
