You'd think that Jordan Peele, one half of the successful comedy duo Key & Peele, would want his directorial debut to be something along the lines of say...Keanu. But no, instead he's gone a different route entirely and settled on horror with Get Out, and the surprising first trailer has arrived.
Girls star Allison Williams and Sicario supporting player David Kaluuya play the film's central couple, Rose and Chris, who venture into suburbia for the ever-awkward first meeting with her parents, played by Catherine Keener and Bradley Whitford. And of course there's the expected tension, but it's not just due to them being an interracial couple, but something far more sinister. Here's the synopsis:
Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods).
At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.
Get Out opens February 24th 2017.
