Aw shucks, it looks like poor Bumblebee no longer has a release date all too himself. The plucky Autobot's spinoff movie had been sitting all alone on June 8th 2018, but now it will face competition from a bunch of thieving ladies. Warner Bros. has announced Ocean's 8 will open on that summer date, as well, making for a very interesting battle of potential franchises.
The Gary Ross-directed film is a continuation of the Steven Soderbergh Ocean's 11 trilogy that features the likes of George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Brad Pitt. Sandra Bullock plays Danny Ocean's sister who assembles a team to steal a necklace from the Met Gala. Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and Awkwafina make up a cast that nearly rivals that of its predecessors.
Shooting begins this fall in NYC.
