Emma Stone's Cruella De Vil Film Lands 'Mozart In The Jungle' Director

Because Disney has a habit of trying to rehabilitate some of their most infamous characters (like Maleficent who tried to kill Sleeping Beauty), they are moving forward on a Cruella De Vil movie. That's right, have a fascination with killing puppies and you get a movie trying to explain it. A while back we learned Emma Stone was eyeing the lead role as the villainess, and now not only has she been confirmed but a director for the movie has been found.

Deadline reports Mozart in the Jungle creator Alex Timbers will take the helm for Cruella. The movie will attempt to make us feel something for the woman who really just wants to use puppies for her next fur coat, and that's the kind of motivation we can all get behind, right? Yeah, good luck with this one, Disney. We all love Emma Stone, but I doubt even she can make us love the 101 Dalmatians evildoer.

No word on a release date but I suspect Disney will be confirming that soon.
