First 'Transformers: The Last Knight' Trailer Teases Time Travel Mayhem
It sounded so incredibly weird; so incredibly....Bay. A Transformers movie that would somehow include the Knights of the Round Table and the sword Excalibur? What in the holy Hell is Michael Bay trying to do with Transformers: The Last Knight? It's supposedly the final movie he'll ever direct in the franchise, and clearly he wants to go out doing EVERYTHING he's ever wanted to do. Will it make any kind of sense at all? Who knows, but the first trailer is here and you can decide for yourself.
Tossing a healthy dose of time travel into the mix, the trailer begins with a shot of the sword Excalibur, followed by what appears to be a flying Dinobot across a medieval landscape. Combined with the subtle, graceful notes and decided lack of mayhem you might think for a moment that this isn't another Transformers movie. Anthony Hopkins' narration carries us through until Bay finally throws up his hands and it's everything we've come to expect. Explosions, warfare, robotic battles, and more. This looks like it could be a chaotic, convoluted mess and I can't wait.
Mark Wahlberg, Tyrese Gibson, and Josh Duhamel reprise their roles, joined by newcomers Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, and Laura Haddock. Transformers: The Last Knight opens June 23rd 2017.
