I can pretty much watch Isabelle Huppert in just about anything, so the last few weeks have been a real treat. The last few weeks alone have found her give two incredible performances that she's already earned awards and nominations for: Paul Verhoeven's controversial Elle, and Mia Hansen-Love's Things to Come. And now she's got a new project that will find her reteaming with a familiar collaborator, Benoit Jacquot.
Huppert will make her sixth movie with Jacquot, this one titled Eva. Based on the James Hadley Chase novel, the film follows a playwright who encounters the mysterious Eva who is squatting in the chalet he's come to in hopes of writing while a violent snowstorm rages outside. Huppert and Jacquot previously worked together on The Wings Of The Dove, The School Of Flesh, Keep It Quiet, The False Servant, and Villa Amalia.
This won't be the first time Chase's book will have been brought to the screen. Most notably Joseph Losey directed Jeanne Moreau in a 1962 film, but I'm dying to see what Huppert can do in the title role. [Cineuopa]
