'Little Shop Of Horrors' Remake Lands Arrowverse Guru Greg Berlanti As Director

Warner Bros. is taking another crack at remaking Little Shop of Horrors, and this time they've enlisted the uber-busy Greg Berlanti to direct. Apparently this means Joseph Gordon Levitt's attempt at a remake for the studio is off the table. Perhaps he can still be asked to come aboard to play Seymour?

This incarnation boasts a script by Matthew Robinson (The Invention of Lying), and of course is based on the campy 1960 film by Roger Corman that was adapted into an off-Broadway classic and beloved 1986 movie starring Rick Moranis. It centers on lowly shopkeep Seymour who befriends a talking man-eating plant that survives on human blood. The plant brings him great success until its hunger becomes insatiable.

Berlanti's name has been everywhere lately, and not for his superhero work.  He recently signed on to direct an adaptation of Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda with Nick Robinson starring, but he'll also produce WWII film The Woman with the Red Hair starring Emilia Clarke. He also has a Booster Gold project in development.
