Peter Parker Proves Himself In First Trailers For 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'

"I know you want to save the world, but you're not ready yet", says Tony Stark to Marvel's brand new Peter Parker, The Impossible star Tom Holland, in the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming. You wouldn't know it by the way he made the Avengers look foolish in Captain America: Civil War, but in his upcoming solo adventure Spidey is definitely still learning the ropes. And he's doing it while navigating that most unholy of terrors: high school.

Directed by Jon Watts, the film has a definite John Hughes-esque vibe to it, with Parker and his buddy Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) called "losers" as they sit in the school lunchroom drooling over Michelle, played by Zendaya. But there is plenty of action and we get to see Michael Keaton as the villainous Vulture, who already looks more menacing and powerful than he ever has in the comics.

There's a lot to love about this trailer, plus the international one that follows. Also starring Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Tony Revolori, Laura Harrier, Donald Glover, Logan Marshall-Green, Hannibal Buress, Angourie Rice, Kenneth Choi, Bokeem Woodbine, Michael Chernus, and Martin Starr, Spider-Man: Homecoming opens July 7th 2017.
