X-Men Series 'Legion' Gets New Trailer And Premiere Date On FX

Following the disappointing X-Men: Apocalypse the state of 20th Century Fox's franchise is in flux. So that would make this the perfect time to do like the mutants do and evolve. That brings us to Legion, the FX series starring Dan Steven as the schizophrenic but all-powerful son of Charles Xavier. And while the connections to the movies may be loose at this point, you can bet fans will be combing over every episode with a fine-tooth comb looking for any sign of a relationship.

FX has revealed a new trailer for the series' first season, as well as revealed the premiere date. Fargo creator Noah Hawley is running the show here, with Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart, Rachel Keller, Katie Aselton co-starring. Stevens plays David Haller, the son of Xavier and Gabrielle Haller who has been confined to a psychiatric ward, only to learn the voices in his head and visions he sees may be real. In the comics, Legion is one of the strongest mutants alive but also one of the most dangerous. How much if any of that will play out on the show remains to be seen, but I will be watching to find out.

Legion will hit FX on Wednesday, February 8th at 10pm EST.
