Bel Powley Learns About Love In First Trailer For 'Carrie Pilby'

Since her breakout role in the gritty coming-of-age film Diary of a Teenage Girl, Bel Powley has gravitated from one similar film after another. The returns on those have been less fulfilling, though, but hopefully that will change with her latest, Carrie Pilby, an adaptation of Caren Lissner's chick-lit bestseller.

Marking the directorial debut of Mean Creek producer Susan Johnson, with Jason Ritter, Vanessa Bayer, Nathan Lane, and Gabriel Byrne co-starring, the film centers on a young genius who graduated from Harvard early but has never fit in socially. After returning home to NYC she sets out to meet others, date, and basically be a regular person, but finds her exacting standards to be a hurdle.

Carrie Pilby opens March 31st and will hit VOD on April 4th.
