Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson May Kill Each Other In 'The Hitman's Bodyguard' Trailer

I'll be very curious to see the reaction to this new trailer for The Hitman's Bodyguard. The first one, released a few weeks ago, got a lot of attention because of the sheer pleasure it took in being vulgar, with stars Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson cursing a blue streak throughout. I received a ton of feedback on it from excited readers and friends who were digging the sheer audacity of it. But this new trailer dials it back just a little in an effort to actually tell us what the movie is about, beyond just a bunch of cuss words and homages to The Bodyguard.

Directed by The Expendables 3's Patrick Hughes with all of the requisite action you'd expect, the film follows the world's best bodyguard who is hired to protect a renowned assassin, who also happens to be his mortal enemy. It's a ridiculous setup but it also looks like a ridiculous amount of fun, with Reynolds and Jackson clearly just being themselves and having a good time. I have to admit, I laughed out loud at the scene with the nuns.

Also starring Salma Hayek, Gary Oldman, Richard E. Grant, Joaquim de Almeida, and Elodie Yung, The Hitman's Bodyguard opens August 18th.
