Want To Write For Punch Drunk Critics? We're Accepting Applications Now!

Have a passion for movies? Feel you always have something clever or insightful to say about them? Cool, because we need ya. Punch Drunk Critics is looking to expand its writing staff and we are looking to bring aboard a number of writers to join the team.

What we're looking for are passionate, reliable people who eat, sleep, and breathe movies, and occasionally television. There are only a few requirements:

1) You must live in the DC/VA/MD area. Why? Because that's where the screenings are. While our reach extends far outside of the DMV, we are primarily based out of DC. The people we bring aboard will be frequently asked to attend screenings in the area, as well as some that will be sent to them online.

2) You can't just have a passion for movies, you have to have a passion for writing about them, too.  We're a full service operation here. For instance, I write news, movie reviews, conduct interviews, do TV recaps when the mood strikes, etc. You'll be asked to do anything and everything, but if you have a specific preference we can accommodate that, too.

3) You must be willing to work for peanuts. Not literally, but close. We're a decent-sized site that has been around for a long time, but we do this because we love it. We are a high-profile entertainment blog and writing for us has opened up opportunities for everyone who has been here, so it's not without benefits.  Whether it's meeting people you thought you'd never meet, attending a film festival you thought you'd never attend, or something else, being a part of Punch Drunk Critics has its perks besides just being part of our little club....although that part's kinda great, too.

Still interested? Cool.  Fire off an email to punchdrunktrav@gmail.com and punchdrunkcritics@gmail.com with a writing sample, preferably a film review, of between 300-500 words. Also send us a write-up of a recent news story. And if you have something specific that you really want to write about, feel free to let us know about that, too.

Thanks!
