Sofia Boutella May Join HBO's 'Fahrenheit 451' With Michael B. Jordan & Michael Shannon

Sofia Boutella made a splash as the razor-limbed assassin for Samuel L. Jackson in Kingsman: The Secret Service, then as the alien warrior Jaylah in Star Trek Beyond. This week she'll help launch a Dark Universe in The Mummy. Basically, she's been pretty busy in flashy, stand-out roles as tougher than nails women, and she may add another such role in HBO's adaptation of Fahrenheit 451.

Boutella is in talks to join Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon in the small-screen take on Ray Bradbury's classic dystopian novel set in a future in which history is literally burned by "firemen". She'll play Clarisse, an informant who shows fireman Montag (Jordan) a past in which people didn't live in fear. This causes Montag to question the actions of his occupation, putting him at odds with his mentor, Beatty (Shannon).

HBO has yet to firmly green light the project but with this cast, plus writer/director Ramin Bahrani already in place, expect that to change very soon. [Variety]
