Selena Gomez, Timothee Chalamet, & Elle Fanning Confirmed For Woody Allen's Next Film

It can get hard to keep up with Woody Allen's films, which is funny because he makes exactly one every year. But if you're a little bit confused...no, this isn't about Wonder Wheel. That 1950s set film is already shot, completed, and due for an awards season run. This is about what Allen has developing next, and he's just locked a trio of young stars that could make for his most energetic movie in quite some time.

Elle Fanning, Selena Gomez, and Call Me By Your Name breakout Timothee Chalamet have been confirmed for the film. Of course there aren't any details and probably won't be until some time next year. That's just the way Allen works. But what we do know is that he hasn't fielded a cast this young in ages, and that is at least a little bit exciting.

I like this move for Gomez, who has been attempting to work with serious filmmakers ever since Spring Breakers. In some ways Fanning seems like she's long overdue for an Allen movie, while Chalamet is a rising star who could have a lot of heat on him by the time this hits theaters.

Amazon Studios has the rights and will probably release it next year. The question is whether it will be a summer release like most of Allen's films, or deeper into the year for a little more prestige. [Deadline]
