Spidey Spinoff 'Silver And Black', 'Soldado', Get Release Dates; Bad News For 'Bad Boys 3'

Sony has dropped a ton of new release dates this weekend, and a few of these are pretty significant. If you're eager for Sony's Spider-Man cinematic universe you'll be pretty happy, also fans of Taylor Sheridan's Sicario will be pleased by this update. As for those who are eager for Bad Boys 3 aka Bad Boys for Life...well, things aren't looking good.

First up, Sony has dated Silver & Black, that's the Spider-Man flick featuring Black Cat and Silver Sable, for February 8th 2019. The Gina Prince-Bythewood directed film faces tough competition, though, with The Lego Movie 2 opening that same day.  We should be hearing some casting news on this soon.

Next up, the somewhat surprising sequel to Sicario, titled Soldado, has been set for June 29th 2018. That's a strong date for a movie that remains something of a mystery. We know Taylor Sheridan is back writing the script for incoming director, Stefano Sollima, and the film will star Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin but no Emily Blunt.

Sorry Bad Boys fans, but I don't think a second sequel is going to happen. Bad Boys 3 aka Bad Boys for Life, has been shuffled off of its November 9th 2018 date and into the land of TBD purgatory. How long do they think Will Smith and Martin Lawrence are going to wait, exactly? Well, Lawrence can wait forever but Smith is hella busy.

Sony's Barbie movie, which recently saw Anne Hathaway replace Amy Schumer in the lead role of the iconic doll, has been delayed a couple of months to August 8th 2018, as I predicted. You can't go from Schumer to Hathaway and not undergo some kind of serious rewrite. Alethea Jones (Fun Mom Dinner) is in line to direct.

Also, Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's Holmes & Watson detective comedy has moved to November 9th 2018, right in the spot vacated by Bad Boys 3
