While it may be getting more confusing sorting out whatever the heck they are doing at DC Films with all of their spinoffs and prequels, some in-continuity and some not, there are already-planned projects that need to get moving. At Comic-Con we saw a rundown of the upcoming DCEU movies and on that list were Suicide Squad 2 and Justice League Dark, and they are progressing at wildly different rates of speed.
First up, a minor note in THR's story on the Joker and Harley Quinn movie reveals that Suicide Squad 2 has been put on the fast track. Directors still need to be sought after Jaume Collet-Serra dropped out to direct Disney's Jungle Cruise. Perhaps they'll turn back to Mel Gibson, who was briefly courted in the beginning? Eh, probably not, but expect a decision to come soon. Of course, you can expect the key players to return: Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as The Joker. If Jai Courtney isn't back as Captain Boomerang we riot.
Meanwhile, Justice League Dark is on the opposite end of the spectrum. The long-developing film, that was originally a pet project of Guillermo Del Toro, has been going through directors like running water with none sticking around. Doug Liman was the latest to skip town, while Andy Muschietti (It), Damian Szifron (Wild Tales), Daniel Espinosa (Safe House) and others have been named as contenders. Well, they'll have to wait because Warner Bros is going back to the drawing board according to Variety's Justin Kroll...

Alrighty then. Sounds like this one isn't going anywhere any time soon. Hopefully that gives them time to figure out where this will fit in the overall DCEU scheme of things. I'm not entirely convinced this will end up in-continuity when all is said and done.
