This season of Game of Thrones has been up and down, undoubtedly. For all of the "Holy shit!!" moments, and there were a lot of them, there were just as many that left you wondering who stuck the Valerian steel up Benioff and Weiss' asses. But last night's season seven finale, "The Dragon and the Wolf", might have been the year's best.
Certainly the last few minutes are beyond compare. Not only do we get that long-awaited confirmation of Jon Snow's true parentage, contrast by his committing an act that he will surely regret later, but we also saw the Night King put the next and most devastating part of his plan into motion. Say goodbye to The Wall, folks! Welcome icy dragonfire because Winter is here!
