It's only been a few months since the most recent version of Battlestar Galactica left the airwaves, and already Universal Pictures is ready to send the iconic space opera to the big leagues. Bryan Singer has been inked to helm a "complete reimagination" of the story, with no connection to the most recent version at all.
Singer had been rumored to be heading back to the X-men franchise over at 20th Century Fox, possibly to helm the upcoming X-men: First Class film that is currently in the pre-production stages. Singer has been wanting to tackle Battlestar for some time, nearly launching his own version of it for TV after he completed X-men. Now he finally gets to put those original ideas of his to work.
