Inevitability Alert! Call of Duty movie possible?

Thanks to AICN via PopWrap we have this quote from Kevin McKidd, the guy who voices ultra bad ass Capt. 'Soap' McTavish in the Modern Warfare series.

"They were looking for a rough, Scottish actor in Hollywood they probably couldn't get Gerard Butler, so they got the No. 2 Gerard Butler, me. I had no idea it would be so huge, and now there are talks of a feature film," he revealed to PopWrap. Then came the kicker, when asked if he would be bringing Soap to life in the movie, he said, "if the script is good, and Gerard isn't available [laughs], then absolutely."

Now, obviously he's talking about landing the job voicing McTavish for the game and there's no real evidence of a movie in production right now, but for those who've played the Modern Warfare series of Call of Duty you know they have an awesome storyline, especially in part 2. The way it's setup they could even have a 'Crash' or 'Babel' style story where the different soldiers stories intertwine leading to the climax of the film. Honestly, I'm suprised this hasn't been approached before, but with 300+ million in sales the first week I would expect Hollywood to fast track a film starring the character of 'Soap' McTavish. Hell if they're making a movie out of 'Prince of Persia' why would they skip the biggest release week video game of all time?
