Trailer for Adam Sandler's new Comedy, GROWN UPS
A few years ago the combination of Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, and Steve Buscemi would've turned some heads. It still might, but after duds like Funny People and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, the luster has kinda faded from Sandler's shine. He's clearly the main player in this comedy about 5 friends(Sandler, James, Rock, David Spade, Rob Schneider) who reunite to mourn the passing of their beloved basketball coach. I'm guessing they spend the bulk of their time whining about their marriages in between the occasional childish romp. Check out the trailer, followed by a quick comment or two...

I won't lie, I've got no love for this trailer. Nor do I have any hope that this'll be any good. It's got the stink of Funny People's lame "maturity" all over it, and who wants to watch Adam Sandler and Chris Rock be mature adults? I certainly don't. Not to mention David Spade hasn't been funny since he crushed Erik Estrada with one line back in like...1990 on SNL. And Rob Schneider? If it ain't Deuce Bigalow, what's his point in being here? The last time I found him remotely interesting was when he was being sorely out-acted by Survivor's Colleen Haskell in The Animal.
This one's gonna need a firehose to blast me over onto the side of having anything positive to say about it. But if you're kinda feelin' it, let us know, and I'll happily send the guys in white coats to your address.
Grown Ups is set to be released on June 25th, 2010.
