Radical Publishing has gained something of a bad reputation lately, at least amongst some hardcore comics fans. The publisher seems to be solely in the business of creating comics for the purpose of turning them into movies. Take for instance The Last Days of American Crime(with Sam Worthington attached) and Legends: The Enchanted. Nothing wrong with that I guess, except it might mean they're a bit more obsessed with ideas rather than crafting complete stories.
With that said, they've added another one of their stable of comics to the production list, as Sam Raimi has signed on to direct the sci-fi western Earp: Saints for Sinners. It features a futuristic version of the legendary lawman, who moves to Las Vegas to pursue a simple life after the violent death of his brother. There he discovers that getting away isn't so easy as his past comes back to haunt him.
He moves to Las Vegas for a simple life? Really, Wyatt? Really?
Raimi knows his way around a western, having successfully remade The Quick and the Dead back in 1995. That film is probably one of my favorite guilty pleasures, but I'm not so sure how I feel about this. Honestly I don't think it'll ever get off the ground. Raimi's schedule is packed already, with World of Warcraft. Not to mention Oz, the Great and Powerful is in his crosshairs, too. Those projects clearly would take precedent over this.
