The Avengers finally gets a start date

A start date has finally been annouced for Marvel's big league superhero team-up, The Avengers. Superhero Hype is reporting that February 2011 is the set date, with no clear schedule or location announced as of yet. The film is due to be released over a year later on May 4th, 2012.

The known cast so far includes: Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury; Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow; Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man; Chris Hemsworth as Thor; Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk; Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye; Chris Evans as Captain America; and Clark Gregg as SHIELD agent Phil Coulson. Joss Whedon is directing.
