The Inceasingly Strange X-Men: First Class casting continues...

I'm starting to think the casting for X-Men: First Class is a joke. Matthew Vaughn has recently poked a lot of holes in superhero movies, even at one point claiming that the entire genre will be dead in a matter of months. Kick-Ass basically made a mockery of the entire genre as well. Now I'm thinking he's having the same sort of fun with the entertainment sites. 

Deadline is reporting that Oliver Platt(Please Give, Year One) has signed on to the film. He'll play a non-mutant character known as The Man in Black.

Johnny Cash? That dude from Lost?? I'm confused.

At this point I have no idea what the Hell this movie's about. The Man in Black is NOT a character from X-men continuity. Period. Nobody knows their X-men like yours truly.
