Trailer time: Catfish

I'm honestly at a loss for words when trying to describe Sundance fave, Catfish. On the surface, it appears to be yet another "documentary", this time about a Facebook romance between a guy and a girl he meets online. But then it seems to take a somewhat sinister turn. Everybody who got a chance to see it at Sundance has been raving about it, but they also don't seem to be very forthcoming with what exactly it's about.

When it comes to movies, you can tell just how good a movie is by how tight lipped everyone is about it. Consider me pumped.  Check out the trailer below, followed by the film's brief synopsis. Kinda looks like a cross between David Fincher's The Social Network and Paranormal Activity. Or am I way off? As of now, there's no set release date, but it's expected to be released some time late in 2010.

Synopsis: Nev, a 24-year-old New York-based photographer, has no idea what he’s in for when Abby, an eight-year-old girl from rural Michigan, contacts him on MySpace, seeking permission to paint one of his photographs. When he receives her remarkable painting, Nev begins a friendship and correspondence with Abby’s family. But things really get interesting when he develops a cyber-romance with Abby’s attractive older sister, Megan, a musician and model. Prompted by some startling revelations about Megan, Nev and his buddies embark on a road trip in search of the truth.
