Colin Farrell to star in Total Recall remake?

Replacing Arnold Schwarzenegger with Colin Farrell in pretty much anything guarantees a completely different movie experience. The two aren't even remotely the same. For a flick like Total Recall the difference would be even more stark. Do you think the now classic line "It's not a tumor"!! would have the same comedic effect with Farrell's delivery? Probably not. Schwarzenegger was a large part of the reason why so many people consider Total Recall to be, if not exactly a classic, but certainly a sci-fi flick they look back on fondly.

So I hope people are prepared for Len Wiseman's upcoming remake, which promises to stick a bit closer to the Philip K. Dick source material than the 1990 version. The reason why I mentioned Farrell in the beginning is because it's being reported that he's been made an offer to star in the lead role previously occupied by the Governator, and is actually in negotiations now. There's not much more information than that, but what else do you really need anyway? Farrell seems like an odd fit, but I'm basing that solely off the previous flick, which was more cheesy charm than than anything. Perhaps I would be more interested if either Michael Fassbender or Tom Hardy, two other potential candidates, were involved.
