Julia Roberts, Charlize Theron as the Evil Queen in rival Snow White flicks

The war for cinematic Snow White supremacy continues! With Relativity Media and Universal Studios both racing eachother to get their respective Snow White flicks out the door, both have been pushing full steam ahead to try and get the major roles cast. Since both flicks have essentially the same characters, expect more stories such as this one with high profile stars vying for the same roles in different movies, like say Julia Roberts and Charlize Theron.

First up is Relativity's The Brothers Grimm: Snow White. Yeah, that title sucks, but I'm willing to bet that director Tarsem Singh(The Fall) will turn it into gold. Word is they're keen on having Julia Roberts take up the mantle of the Evil Queen. At this stage she's a name on their probably lengthy list(I bet Charlize is on it too), so it's too early to tell just how serious this is. With Tarsem at the helm, expect this film to be more visually oriented, probably a bit darker in tone.

And then there's Universal's Snow White and the Huntsman. We've heard for weeks that Charlize Theron was in talks, but now those discussions seem to have increased. The only thing standing in her way are other films she's also in line for, such as Clint Eastwood's J. Edgar Hoover biopic. She likely won't be able to fit both into her schedule.  If she does indeed sign on, she'll likely be starring opposite Michael Fassbender, who appears to have taken the role of the Huntsman away from Tom Hardy. Hardy will be far too busy with John Hillcoat's The Wettest County in the World and The Dark Knight Rises to have time for anything else.

THR reports that the search for Snow White has begun, with relatively unknown actresses vying for the high profile role. Riley Keough(The Runaways), Felicity Jones(Cheri), Bella Heathcoat(??), and Alicia Vakander(???) are said to be trying out in the next few days.
