director, Neil Blomkamp, was moving ahead with his much anticipated follow-up titled Elysium. The film is apparently another socially charged sci-fi flick with tons of action, only this one would be set on another planet. We already know that Sharlto Copley is set to star, but he's got no chance of being THE star now, not with Matt Damon set to join up as well.Deadline has the story, which says that Damon is currently in talks to be the lead guy. They also state that more big name casting is on the way, so it's looking like Blomkamp is putting all of his District 9 cred to good use by attracting A-list talent.
You'll be able to see Damon next on December 22nd in True Grit, directed by the Coen Brothers. You'll want to be there for that one, I promise.
