Anything to get the stink of Ridley Scott's Robin Hood flick out of my nose. THR is reporting that the Wachowskis, Andy and Lana, are looking to bring the classic tale back to theaters with 'Hood', a modern take on the story.
The script is apparently already written with Joel Silver set to produce. Silver has produced all of the Wachowski's previous flicks, so that was a no-brainer. Reports are that the duo is reaching out to Will Smith for a possible starring role. I would say that this would mark the first time an African-American has ever portrayed Robin Hood in a film, but that would presume that this would be a typical production. Probably a mistake given the Wachowski's track record. If the film actually gets made(not a done deal at this point) expect it to be a vibrant, hyper kinetic experience and a complete 180 from the boring drek we saw this past summer.
