Trailer Time: Mother's Day, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman

One look at this "trailer" for Darren Lynn Bousman's(Saw II and Saw III) 'Mother's Day' and I think it's pretty apparent it's got very little in common with the 1980 original, although some are calling it a "reimagining". Rebecca De Mornay(The Hand that Rocks the Cradle) stars as the mother of three criminal brothers who escape for home after a job, only to discover that the house has been lost to foreclosure. Now occupied by new tenants, the brothers take them all hostage, and wait for mother to show up and straighten everything out. It doesn't look like it goes very well.

Starring De Mornay, Jaime King, Deborah Ann Woll(True Blood), Shawn Ashmore, Briana Evigan, and Alexa Vega, Mother's Day is due out on April 1st. Let's hope we get a chance to check it out!

Like I said, not much in common with the original, which had more of a 'I Spit on Your Grave' vibe to it. This one looks like a more violent 'Funny Games'. I can dig that.

Thanks to BloodyDisgusting for the trailer!
