Whenever I'm at my lowest point
, I somehow always end up with
Groove
in my DVD player. Not that it's a particularly great film, although it features a kickin' soundtrack from the likes of techno's best DJs. The reason is that it's a film about people letting go of their problems and embracing the moment, even if just for a single night.
Director Greg Harrison would go on to helm one more film that I don't think gets enough props, 2004's
November
, starring Courteney Cox. The scene from Groove that's below is my favorite by far, with John Digweed's rendition of
'Heaven Scent'
backdropping all of these very different characters united in a state of euphoria. Everytime I hear this track it gives me the chills it's so good.
