Whenever I'm at my lowest point, I somehow always end up with Groove in my DVD player. Not that it's a particularly great film, although it features a kickin' soundtrack from the likes of techno's best DJs. The reason is that it's a film about people letting go of their problems and embracing the moment, even if just for a single night.
Director Greg Harrison would go on to helm one more film that I don't think gets enough props, 2004's November, starring Courteney Cox. The scene from Groove that's below is my favorite by far, with John Digweed's rendition of 'Heaven Scent' backdropping all of these very different characters united in a state of euphoria. Everytime I hear this track it gives me the chills it's so good.
