As Super 8 gets closer to it's June 10th release, I'm becoming increasingly hesitant to post all these new clips and images from the highly secretive flick. Over the last few days Paramount has been debuting 30 second bits that are all roughly around the same time frame in the movie, near the time of the big train crash that kicks off the Amblin inspired action. You can check out the latest clip below showing what takes place afterwards...
I continue to think Super 8 has the potential to be JJ Abrams' best film yet. And yeah, I'm including Star Trek in that mix, folks. Or maybe I'm just hyped to see a movie again that has child protagonists on a grand adventure in their own neighborhoods, the type of stuff we used to watch growing up in the 80s. Can we just time travel to June already, please?
PLOT
In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth – something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.
